Larry Wiehe Trombone Competition

For tenor trombonists ages 23 and under (birth date of January 1, 1984 or later)

Prizes will be announced at a later date

The 2008 ITA Competitions General Rules and Requirements must be strictly followed to avoid disqualification.

Additional Rules

• Live piano accompaniment is required. No pre-recorded accompaniments are acceptable.
• Past winners of the Larry Wiehe Trombone Competition are not eligible in the 2008 Wiehe Trombone Competition.

Preliminary Round

(Both items must be recorded in the order listed below)

Arthur Pryor

La Petite Suzanne for trombone and piano — Carl Fischer
The Patriot for trombone and piano — Carl Fischer

SPECIAL NOTE: Observe the following cuts in The Patriot:
1) Tempo di Polka — take 2nd ending and cut directly to Trio
2) At the end of the Trio — take 2nd ending and cut directly to the Coda
