For ensembles of 4 trombonists or more (with rhythm section)

First Prize - Featured performance at the 2009 International Trombone Festival in Aarhus, Denmark.

General Rules and Requirements

• The 2009 ITA Competitions General Rules and Requirements must be strictly followed to avoid disqualification.

Additional Rules

• All improvised solos must be performed by regular members of the ensemble—no guest soloists.
• No age requirement or school affiliation required.
• Winning ensemble must utilize only the players who made the CD recording in their ITF appearance—no additional players or substitutions allowed without the approval of the Competitions Committee.
• Winning conductor has total control over the content of their ITF performance.
• Members of the 2005, 2006, 2007 or 2008 Winding Competition winners are not eligible in the 2009 Kai Winding Jazz Trombone Ensemble Competition.
