Ron Babcock is trombone professor at Portland State University. He has performed regularly with ensembles such as the Portland Baroque Orchestra, Woody Hite Big Band and the Oregon Symphony. Recent solo appearances include the world premiere of Klaus Cornell’s trombone concerto, The Legend of Mary’s Peak, with the Portland Chamber Orchestra. One of Babcock’s current projects is the organization and direction of the Northwest Trombone Ensemble. The group of professional trombonists from around the Northwest is currently working on a CD that will feature large trombone ensemble literature.
